150 “Governor’s School Week 1″

Posted in Episodes on June 29th, 2009

This week, it’s part one of our two part exposé of the 2009 Tenessee Governor’s School for the Arts.  John’s in charge of it again this year and it seems to be going swimmingly.  In fact, he was able to carve out a few minutes from his busy schedule to sit down with me and give me an exclusive interview about it.  He also was able to sit down with Bill Bowers for an exclusive, even though I couldn’t tear myself away from my busy schedule.

149 “Tennessee Shakespeare Festival”

Posted in Episodes on June 22nd, 2009

This week we take a little trip just down the road from Dumbshow Central to Bell Buckle, Tennessee.  In addition to the annual Moon Pie Festival and the Webb School, “The BB” is host to the Tennessee Shakespeare Festival.  I took the recorder down to a rehearsal and had a little chat with Artistic Director Lane Davies about this season’s festivities.  Meanwhile, John invited the director of this year’s Green Show into the studio to talk about the new additions.
